July 2016 Wrap-Up

Goodbye July! And good riddance… I’m not really a summer lover and I need fall to get here like now! To make July even worse, I only read six books this month and didn’t get on the blog as much as I would’ve liked to. The biggest reason for that is probably Pokemon GO! which I’ve been doing great with and if this were a PoGo wrap-up I would have lots to tell you, but it’s not… so how about I just get to the point.

What did I read in July? Audiobooks:

Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock by Matthew Quick (4 Stars)
Tell Me Again How A Crush Should Feel by Sara Farizan (5 Stars)
Shadowshaper by Daniel Jose Older (4 Stars)

Tell Me Again How A Crush Should Feel was my favorite of the 3, and I definitely need to read more by Sara Farizan, but all 3 of these audiobooks were super enjoyable.

The Woods Vol. 1: The Arrow by James Tynion IV (author) and Michael Dialynas (artist) (4 Stars)

Just the one comic for the month, but there are plenty of volumes for this one so I definitely plan on continuing!

Gemina by Aime Kaufman and Jay Kristoff (5 Stars)
The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon (5 Stars)

Both of these books were amazing in their own way. Gemina was a fantastic sequel to Illuminae and TSIAAS is another instant favorite from Nicola Yoon. I can’t wait to own these two in hardcover!

So July may have not been a super productive reading month for me, but I am currently sitting at 72 books read out of 75 on my Goodreads reading challenge, so I’d say I’m having a decent year for sure!

Did you have any good reads this month?

Haha Pokemon Go is so distracting! But it’s too much fun to not play lol. I so want to read Gemina and The Sun Is Also The Star! They’re both anticipated releases/reads for me this year. I’ve also been wanting to read Shadowshaper and Tell Me Again How A Crush Should Feel. Both of these novels sounded really good when I recently came across them in the Lib this month.

Thanks for sharing your wrap up! Hopefully, Pokemon Go doesn’t deter you as much next month haha but then again I can’t stop playing either lol

Oh goodness, Pokemon Go took over my life in July as well! It’s starting to slow down for me this month (which is nice), but I’m so busy with all the summer things that I feel like my reading might take a blow. Oh well! Real life sometimes takes precedence 😉 Hope you have a lovely August!
