In this romantic sequel to Famous in Love, new Hollywood “It Girl” Paige must navigate love with her co-stars, both on and off screen and all in the public eye.
Lights, camera, love!
After being plucked from obscurity, Hollywood’s newest starlet, Paige Townsen, has a hit film to her name and Rainer Devon on her arm. But being half of the world’s most famous couple comes with a price, and soon Paige finds herself dodging photographers; hiding her feelings for her other costar, Jordan Wilder; and navigating tabloid scandals that threaten to tear her and Rainer apart-and end her career as quickly as it began.
Rebecca Serle’s sequel to Famous in Love is filled with the kind of celebrity drama and swoon-worthy romance fit for the silver screen.
If you remember when I reviewed Famous in Love I was fawning over this book in a hard way. I adore it and when I was able to get my hands on an arc for Truly Madly Famously from Rebecca Serle herself on Twitter, I was ecstatic. I tore into the package and started reading right away, and I was not disappointed in the slightest. I gave book one 5 stars and I really want to give book two 10!
The first book ended and I literally craved more. TMF starts off with RAIGE (Paige and Rainer’s ship name) in full swing. Now, I am 100% #TeamJordan, but I do like the relationship Paige and Rainer share… though in a brother/sister or good friends sort of way. So when the book starts and Rainer’s being all ‘mr-perfect-bf’ I kind of wanted to gag, but I can understand why Paige would latch herself onto him. She’s still struggling in his Hollywood world and doesn’t quite know how to fit in yet. We do still get some love-triangle in the sequel, so I still got some yummy Jordan moments, but the build up to that was kind of rough. Being young in Hollywood can’t be easy, and being young in love has got to be near impossible.
What’s nice about book two is we get to see more than just Paige on a film set between to hotties all day long. We see her relationship’s with her friends and family, and her new Hollywood BFF Alexis, grow and change as she grows and changes. They do start to film the sequel to ‘Locked’ so we do still get some filming going on, but it isn’t the sole focus. We also get to see Paige fight for a role in and indie movie, and it brought me back to one of my favorite shows, Entourage, when Vince’s agent wants him to do blockbusters but he wants to do an indie. It’s details like that that make me love these books so much. Serle does her homework, she knows how Hollywood and the tabloids and even how young love works! We’re not all perfect, and yes that includes movie stars.
So I said it about Famous and I’ll say it again. This book is perfect for any contemporary lover and a match made in heaven for all pop culture junkies. Thank you so much to Little Brown and Rebecca Serle herself for letting me read this book early, and I can’t wait to have my own hardcover next week! If you haven’t read Famous in Love yet go pick up both NOW, you won’t regret it!
