Con artists Jenna York and Ethan Summers always seem to cross paths during their travels around the world. With their partners in tow, the cunning criminals wreak havoc across the globe, stealing from the rich and giving to the richer. While Jenna tries to convince herself that she sees him as nothing more than a professional rival, Ethan finds it a little harder to fight his attraction to the beautiful thief.
When tragedy strikes, Jenna and Ethan join forces, but are the stakes too high? Can they escape this last job with their lives—and their hearts—intact?
When I read the synopsis for this book my mind instantly went to “they are into each other but won’t admit it”, this might only be my second favorite after “they don’t realize they are into each other”. Combine this with two people who spend every day running and risking their lives for a bit of con work and you have a healthy cocktail for a great read. I will admit that I have not read anything about con artists but have enjoy a good amount in TV and movies. I am pulled to the characters you can’t decide if they are good or bad. I did not have a hard time deciding this time however because Logan writes Jenna and Ethan as characters you can’t help but root for.
Something I enjoyed reading about was both Jenna and Ethan becoming vulnerable. Both of them have spent so long keeping everyone in their lives at a distance because of their chosen professions. Things happen and soon they are both seeking each others company. Part of this is to protect everyone else in their lives and there is just something that draws them together. Jenna and Ethan have great chemistry together and share plenty of witty banter as well as some steamy scenes.
The story was constantly flowing and I found myself very eager to find out answers. Everything is very fast paced and I found myself flying through this book. Logan’s writing is very fun and allows for an easy read. I know I will be checking out her other work and can definitely recommend that you check this one out!
