The romantic story of a girl who gets plucked from obscurity to star in the next major feature film franchise based on a book and the ensuing love triangles she gets entangled in on—-and off screen.
Meet Paige Townsen, Rainer Devon, and Jordan Wilder…
When Paige Townsen, a young unknown, gets cast in the movie adaptation of a blockbuster book series, her life changes practically overnight. Within a month, Paige has traded the quiet streets of her hometown for a crowded movie set on the shores of Maui, and is spending quality time with her co-star Rainer Devon, one of People’s Sexiest Men Alive. But when troubled star Jordan Wilder lands the role of the other point in the movie’s famous love triangle, Paige’s crazy new life gets even crazier.
In this coming-of-age romance inspired by the kind of celeb hookups that get clever nicknames and a million page views, Paige must figure out who she is – and who she wants – while the whole world watches.
This book is any pop culture fans dream come true. It’s not just a love triangle contemporary romance, but it’s every celebrity love triangle drama you pine over in the tabloids or your favorite gossip site, it’s all the behind-the-scenes juicy bits on your favorite movie set, and it’s every fangirls dream. Trust me, if you squeal over anything you’re going to squeal over Famous in Love.
My favorite part about this book is that while it’s mainly contemporary you still get a hint of fantasy because the film that they are making in the book is an adaptation of a fictional book series that sounds just as exciting as any YA series you might be reading today. So it’s really easy to connect with Paige Townsen because she’s a girl just like you or me… only she’s also a lovely actress who has to hunky guys falling in love with her.
This book is so much fun and the ending will leave you craving more, which is good since Rebecca is working on book two! I highly recommend it to anyone who loves contemporary and to those who love juicy gossip. I gave it 5 stars when I first read it and after thinking it over and really letting it digest I would give it even more. So keep your eye on the shelves for Famous in Love out October 21, 2014! Less than a month away, I can’t wait!
Thanks to our lovely friends over at Fangirlish.Com we got a mini interview with Rebecca Serle and I’m so excited to share, plus we have a special giveaway at the end for an ARC of Famous in Love so be sure to enter that! A quick thank you to Rebecca for answering our questions, it was a pleasure:
Polished Page-Turners: What kind of celebrity gossip did you research while writing Famous in Love? Any celebs in particular?
Rebecca Serle: I think the better question would be what gossip DIDN’T I research? I read everything. I mean, it’s not that hard to do nowadays. It’s pretty much everywhere. That’s the fascinating thing. I mean I’m keyed into this universe. It’s a part of my life. But even my friends who don’t watch The Vampire Diaries, let’s say, still know who Nina Dobrev is. She’s on the cover of every magazine, and for awhile, a lot of those headlines were about her relationship with Ian Somerhalder. This stuff is hard to miss even if you want to.
Polished Page-Turners: If your book had a movie tag line, like “Lord of the Rings meets Harry Potter” what would it be?
Rebecca Serle: How do you fall in love with the whole world watching?
Polished Page-Turners: What made you decide to turn Famous in Love into a series rather than a stand alone?
Rebecca Serle: It was always going to be multiple books. There is just so much story here. If they let me I would probably do twenty books with Paige, Jordan and Rainer. I love them, and I love writing them. I have a lot of fun exploring their universe.
Polished Page-Turners: What books are you currently obsessing over?
