Self Published Sundays #5 + Giveaway

Today should be called ‘Self Promotion Sunday’ because I’m totally going to take this time to brag about my book. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you know that this week I finally got my paperback copies of Heavy Hearts and they are finally on sale! I can’t explain the feeling of holding your own book in your hands for the first time, but lets just say it’s better than being able to eat all the chocolate (or whatever sweet you like) in the world without gaining a single ounce. Yeah, it’s that good.

I used CreateSpace, an Amazon company, to get these paperbacks made and aside from having a few cover issues it was pretty painless. The first cover I uploaded wasn’t the right size, I also accidentally picked the wrong size for the actual book itself. So I ordered my first batch of proofs and 3 totally jacked up copies show up. I was so mad at myself. But I figure now if I ever make it big these crappy proofs will be worth some money.. HA! So I did keep them and signed them. I gave one to my mom cause she reads in the bathtub, so if she ruins it it’s no big, and the other two I’ll probably give away for fun. We’ll see. Once I corrected the mistakes I had made I ordered only 1 copy on the off chance that it was messed up again, and when it came I cried. Not because it was wrong, or wasn’t what I was expecting, but because it was finally here and it made it all feel so real. I felt like a real author now.

Yes, Heavy Hearts had been on eBook for nearly two months, but this was just so much better. First thing I did was run to my bookshelf and take pics

So to celebrate the release of my very first book being on sale in paperback I’m going to have a giveaway right here! This giveaway will include a signed paperback copy of Heavy Hearts, and some Heavy Hearts swag including: bookmarks, stickers, and buttons.

It was Blaise Pascal who wrote “The heart has its reasons which reason knows not,” and that couldn’t be more true for love-struggling Lucy Whitten.

This romantic time jumping tale takes you back into Lucy’s past and spiraling into her present where three men all confess their undying love to her. When she finds herself caught in the center of this epic love triangle it takes a heavy heart to decide whose heart to love, and whose hearts to break.

If you just can’t wait to read this book then you can purchase it here: Heavy Hearts

You can also buy the paperback and eBook on Amazon! But if I could ask that you purchase the paperbacks from CreateSpace. I only ask because it benefits me more, and as an indie author in order to produce more things, like hardcovers and more swag/signed copies, I have to fund that all myself and trust me when I say it isn’t cheap. Having said that, as long as people are enjoying my book I don’t care where they get it from. I didn’t do this to get rich quick, I did this to hopefully make people feel the same way I feel when I read my favorite books.

Find me and my book on Goodreads and also follow my personal website for all info on Heavy Hearts, future writing, and my life. One exciting thing about the paperback copy is that it include the first chapter of Finn: A Heavy Hearts Novella which is the first of three companion novellas I’m writing from each guy’s POV. I’m really excited about it. I haven’t picked a definitive release date, but Finn’s story is finished and ready to go. I’m thinking the beginning of October will be good. So that is something you’ll want to look out for if you enjoy my book.

Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive from the beginning. You all know who you are and I love you so much.

I felt the same way, and that’s when I realized that I could self publish and it wouldn’t be anything to be ashamed of 🙂
