Self Published Sundays #4 – Spotlight on The Pendant Trilogy

sps

Today I have something special to share with you. Part of being a self published author is finding more self published authors to chat with, support, and even promote. I absolutely adore being in the indie book world and I love all the new authors I’m meeting over the wonderful world wide web. Just like writing duo Sarena and Sasha Nanua, young twin authors who wrote and self published The Pendant Trilogy.

I’m just about finished with book 1, The Gemstone, and I am loving it! Not only am I enjoying the book, but I really love the unique way Sarena and Sasha write, and the fact that they are a team. Such young talent deserves recognition.

ssSarena and Sasha Nanua are teenage twins living in Ontario. They love reading books in their spare time and enjoy science fiction and fantasy novels. They have been writing books since they were nine-years-old. The Gemstone is their first novel. You can visit them online at www.thependanttrilogy.com

The Gemstone – One gemstone that changed her life… Now it was almost before me. My breath quickened as I struggled to let go of the necklace. I even stood to pull the box with me, but the ribbon of the necklace reddened my wrist like a hot coal and I cried out in pain. Suddenly all I heard was my breath-in, out. The figure moved quicker and quicker, closer and closer…
The figure was now above me, drifting over my head, and then it tumbled on me with the force of gravity.

And then with a whimper, I fell unconscious as darkness surrounded me.

ARICA MILLER is thrilled to begin her sophomore year at Hill Valley Private Arts Academy. Little does she know that the prestigious school holds more hidden secrets than she’d anticipated-especially with the headmistress. After she accidentally comes into contact with a mysterious gemstone necklace, she receives strange hallucinations that connect to her family’s past. Arica soon realizes that this is no regular necklace, but a necklace that contains power beyond her knowledge. And that’s not all. Her world unwinds as she is absorbed with knowledge of a world of sorcery.

All dating up to Halloween night, Arica must face suspicious friends, monstrous creatures, and the truth of her family’s connection with sorcery. But worst of all, she must face a powerful enemy keen on only one thing: the gemstones – Goodreads synopsis

book2The King’s JewelA New Journey Begins “An invisible force pushed me back to the solid forest ground. The portal sealed off with one last burst of light, and then I was left alone with the eerily tall trees.”

“I lay on the forest floor for a moment, shuddering from the encounter with the woman. I pushed myself off the ground and crossed the dirty forest path to the twins’ house, still jittering. It didn’t take long for me to register the familiarity of the woman: her black hair, charcoal eyes, venomous tone.”

“The headmistress was back.”

AFTER AN UNTHINKABLE BATTLE, Arica Miller is bursting with questions. The last thing she expected was to go to the source of all magic-the Sorcerers Underworld. She soon realizes the magical world is facing an immense threat: The king’s crown, also known as the Jewel, has been stolen by an unknown thief. And what’s worse, the gemstones have been taken by a magical flood that has a suspicious link to the headmistress.

Now Arica and her cousins are summoned to go on a dangerous search that leads them to the waters of the Bermuda Triangle. If Arica wishes to return home, she must find the gemstones and unlock the mystery of the Jewel’s thief; but what she doesn’t realize is that the culprit could be closer to her than she’d ever imagined…. – Goodreads synopsis

Both books have great reviews, and even though I have yet to finish book 1 I know I’m going to be picking up book 2 soon. It’s a truly thrilling story, and from what I’ve seen in other reviews the ending is pretty intense and I’ll probably have to download book 2 right away. Thank goodness for technology!

Get your hands on book 1 and 2 soon because the epic conclusion is coming soon!

A cover reveal for The Poisoned Emerald was revealed yesterday on Icey Books and it is shiny!

Synopsis for The Poisoned Emerald:

The poison is spreading….

I wrapped myself in the portal’s embrace and felt my feet land on a new surface. I stood on a sandy beach that was wet and damp, causing the ground to stick to my shoes. The portal snapped shut, and I felt misty rain dance on my shoulders. Thunder sounded from overhead, and before I could comprehend the impending storm, a gash of lightning hit the hill just to the right of the river. The ground quaked below me before an explosion of sand burst from the ground.

AS WINTER ARRIVES Arica Miller is back to regular school life at Hill Valley. After resolving the disappearance of the King’s Jewel and returning it safely, Arica doesn’t expect anything else to go wrong. Too soon does Arica learn that a great evil—a poison—has spread through the Sorcerers Underworld, threatening to take away all magic. And worse, the only person who can save the magical world has been kidnapped: the king. In order to find the king, Arica and her friends must follow an ancient prophecy in which they must defeat vicious creatures, travel through mysterious forests, and restore peace to the poisoned land—no matter how dangerous it could be … In this final installment of The Pendant Trilogy, Arica learns of dark pasts, unknowable futures, and the truth of the pendant’s origin. Arica doesn’t have much time left—and if she fails, the mortal and the magical worlds are both at stake. The Poisoned Emerald.FINAL.indd

The synopsis of The Gemstone sounds really intriguing! I think I will pick it up when I have more spare time since the ebook version is pretty cheap. The authors look so young and I’m really impressed that they already wrote an entire trilogy! Also, I’m always curious to read books that are written by multiple authors, I just think it’s interesting how they are able to work together.
