2014 thus far

My Goodreads goal in 2013 was to read 150 books and I managed to read…149. I know, I know why didn’t I finish that last book. The honest answer is I took a nap rather than finish. Time to forget 2013 and move onto 2014! This year I set my goal at 150 again mainly because I don’t see myself reading any more than last year nor reading any less. As of Monday I have finished 3 books but I must note how I read a portion of 2 of these in 2013 BUT STILL!

BOOK 1
17449197Unhinged (Splintered #2) by A.G. Howard
Published
January 7th 2014 by Amulet

Quick thoughts: 5/5…yep I need book 3 yesterday.

I think I fell more in love with Anita’s writing style in this one (if at all possible). I love her style so hard. If you love swoony boys you need to pick up this series right away.

BOOK 2
16122034Frigid by J. Lynn
Published
July 15th 2013 by Spencer Hill Contemporary
Source: library

Quick thoughts: 4/5…this was my first contemporary byΒ Jennifer L. Armentrout and I really enjoyed it. I didn’t quite love it as much as the Lux series but I know I will contune to pick up any kind of book from her. Plus it was a perfect read for a snow day.

BOOK 3
17573559Roomies by Sara Zarr and Tara Altebrando
Published
December 24th 2013 by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
Source: librar

Quick thoughts: 4.5/5…this story had me almost crying at one point. Great look at how life changes when it’s time to go to college. Both narrators had a unique voice and felt very real. I would highly recommend if you liked Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.

So this is how my posts are going to go for the next week or two until I’ve shared what I finished my reading year off. I may throw in some full reviews in there. Until next time!

I’ve been hearing mixed things about Roomies but it looks really interesting.

I’m glad you had a good start on your reading this year. πŸ˜€
